Here's one way to handle things when your marriage goes bad:

An immigration officer tried to rid himself of his wife by adding her name to a list of terrorist suspects.

He used his access to security databases to include his wife on a watch list of people banned from boarding flights into Britain because their presence in the country is 'not conducive to the public good'.

As a result the woman was unable for three years to return from Pakistan after travelling to the county to visit family.

The tampering went undetected until the immigration officer was selected for promotion and his wife name was found on the suspects' list during a vetting inquiry.

The Home Office confirmed today that the officer has been sacked for gross misconduct.

But look at it this way: he's been free of her for three years now. From his point of view, losing his job was probably a bargain. Hard to imagine he thought he'd get away with this forever.

:lol:That is funny.

Well that has to be a first. How long did the dude think it was going to last.

Something seems fishy here.

I'm sure she knew why she wasn't allowed back you would assume that she would launch a complaint and this could have easily been discovered,no?

Maybe she didn't want to return?.

Another public official fired, CHUNKY where are you? Government workers are falling like flies sprayed with raid.

LOL at first read you have to laugh at it.......how many times have we heard complaints about bitchy ex-wives? That's one way to keep her out of your hair.....

Yeah, a complaint would involve at least a cursory glance at her file and who put her name on the list....that would have raised eyebrows right away. Unless of course they don't have a place for who filled out the form which wouldn't surprise me.

But more importantly, what a gross abuse of position. If he could do that, how many people have been put on the list out of sheer spite? Makes you wonder.

And Dan, you're right. Where's the chunky one defending the rights of public servants?

No need for me to defend anyone in this case. This SOB does deserve to be fired. In this case there was malice and intent.

We actually agree on this one, :gasp:gross misuse of power.
