CTV's Canada AM ran a segment a few weeks ago when the teenage prostitution story broke. Marci Ein interviewed prostitute-cum-social worker, who spoke about the reality of human trafficking in Canada. I don't think she's one of the women named in the Sun article, but the circumstances described ring a bell.
The startling assertion the interviewee made was that, contrary to popular belief, human trafficking is not an immigrant or foreign problem. She said that 80% of her clients are local, Canadian born and raised girls. Marci's eyes just about popped out of her head.
The Sun story would seen to bear out that claim.
