I consider it insulting when people refuse my right to identify myself in the way that I feel is appropriate. I also consider intentional use of improper pronouns to be insulting as well. The mods on the other board (as well as this one) are inclined to agree. To state I am something other than what I identify myself as suggests that you know me better than I know myself, and would be very insulting to anyone.

That said, I'm not here to dig up old graves; I'm here to understand "what consitutes gay."

Nikki, I dont think mods are inclining to agree anything. Because i dont think there is any post that directly insulting you. You are here and expressing yourself freely as much as other members.

That's between me and the mods, I will not repeat what was said in private conversation. Nobody has yet been banned for anything said in this thread, and we all hope that continues to be the case. You certainly have the right to identify yourself as you wish. Other members have an equal right to express their opinion for discussion purposes, provided it is kept with in the boundaries of good taste. At the moment this seems to be a clean discussion.

No problem, I didn't take it as an insult at all - it's a perfectly valid question which I'm happy to answer.

No, I've never, ever entertained a client without telling him I'm a tgirl. That's why I put it in my handle - to avoid misconceptions. That would be improper business practice, unfair to the client, and frankly, very, very dangerous. A guy might overreact to that sort of situation, and it wouldn't be very safe for me. Just so I'm clear - it seems that, based on your responses, no single act defines one's sexuality, am I right? Whether it's the first or the hundredth act is important, though it could be that you're defined by the first and the next hundred don't matter, or you're defined by the last and the first hundred don't matter.

Either way, no single act determines sexuality, so it seems to be more complex than we'd assume. I'm not trying to pick and fights, I'm just trying to illustrate that there may not be a clear, definitive answer to "what constitutes gay?" so maybe we're better off letting people answer that for themselves.
