Cops run over and kill a running criminal. Family rewarded $500,000.

Lazy on anything you do will get you nowhere. In this instance will get someone killed.

Why are they always protecting the criminals?.

Dammit they steal from you and harm others.

but if you believe the story

they guy was running because he got caught not wearing a seat belt

Criminal? What criminal?

The dead man simply failed to stop for police over an alleged seatbelt violation.

The news story makes no reference to any previous criminal record, or evidence of criminal activity surrounding this incident.

Why did he try to run away from the cops?

Maybe he felt threatened by them or feared he was a victim of racial profiling.

In any case, this loss of life could and should have been avoided.

Seems his licence was suspended and he was on probation so that is why he probably ran.

Bottom line is when you run from the police you take your life in your hands.

And lets face it , if this was a white guy this story wouldn't have been given the time of day.

Seems like the most logical explanation for that foolish act.

No disagreement there my friend.

Let's face it, if he was a white guy, this story might have ended differently.

I doubt it Art.

This was an example of an over zealous rookie cop who made a grave error in judgment.

I think he would have engaged in the same pursuit regardless of the colour of the perpetrator.

Yeah, you're probably right.

It also seems dumb of him driving off road at night in pursuit of a suspect in a minor traffic violation even had the fatality not occurred.
