back before these states made it legal to have pot, I said it was a slippery slope. Trust me this is just the beginning of such falls.
I don't agree Psmerf, it doesn't matter one whit whether it is legal or illegal to possess pot....the laws broken pertain to the method the material used, not the legality of the material itself.
It is totally legal to have pain meds that contain codeine, but it is illegal to slip it into someone's drink at a party or wherever. For that matter, it is illegal to give anyone a drug or medicine without their knowledge. that is the crime being committed here, not the fact that it was pot.
This reminds me of a time at a previous company I worked at. I had a killer headache and the warehouse manager (you'd think he'd know better) said he had some tylenol in his desk....did I want one? I said hell yeah.....I didn't note what it said on the tablets and took two. About 10 minutes later I started to feel loopy. He was hanging around laughing to himself....I finally noticed and said "what"? he said "those were tylenol 3's with codeine" and laughed his ass off. I was pissed, I had to drive home yet couldn't because I was high as a kite. Now a little backstory, this is after I stopped smoking up and drinking because I found that any small amount and I'd get blasted....so ANY type of med sent me to the moon.
He thought it was hilarious but fuck, it screwed me up the whole night. I had to wait fricken hours before I could drive home (this happened around 4 with a normal home time of 4:30). I mean, what if I had an allergy to codeine? he could have fricken killed me or if he didn't tell me and I hopped in the car and drove and wrapped myself around a telephone pole.
Two stupid kids doing something totally irresponsible and now they've probably fucked up their entire lives over a stupid prank......just another case showing that common sense is dead in our nation's youth.....
