19-year-old Serena McKay, was found Sunday night near a home in the community 100 kilometres northeast of Winnipeg.

Two teenage girls from the community have been charged with second-degree murder in McKay's death. The girls, aged 16 and 17, cannot be identified due to provisions in the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Both are being held in custody.

Social media has so many pros, yet this is it's main con, it allows this tragic stuff. My opinion is that by reposting it we are encouraging it, but that is just how I see it. To her family, I'm so very sorry.

Awful. This kind of vigilante justice in teens is ongoing. I see it all the time and lived it.

She was dead after the first kick to the head and kept getting kicked. Awful, just awful.

It's disgusting what these two young ladies did. You can hear a males voice in the background. I hope everyone standing around is charged and the two who committed the crimes spend a life time in jail.

^Most might want to know, but do most actually want to see it and if so for what benefit( beyond the actual identification of the perpetrators)?.....How is watching one human kill another beneficial for anyone beyond law enforcement? If you enjoy this type of thing, get some help, if you want it to stop, then people have to stop providing a platform for which it can be displayed and an audience that enjoys the violence. Simply because something happens, doesn't mean it's everyone's right to see or hear about it. Imagine how the parent/s, or family feels about their loved ones death being publicly displayed, if it were your son or daughter, mother/father, etc, would you want it played over and over for all to see?
