Frequently dolphins swim closer to shore so they will be closer to the fish they eat. They also feel close to shore will be safer from killer whales. So they say.

The US Navy are doing studies as with other groups.....In Puget Sound they had issues with the subs coming in.....So they are tracking if subs or Warships are near by when the dolphins or whales etc beach themselves........

I agree with the feeding but I have seen whales jump out of the water to catch a seal on the beach....
