but I would not let him go. He was only 12 and I felt he needed to socialize more.
So he went to the High School....He was in University at 16.
In the USA we had issues...the schools are more into sports.
Also the straw that did it was went a child stabbed my son with
a pencil, we went to the Doctor, the Doctor told us that the child
should be suspended, he writes a note to the School. The school had a
meeting with us, nothing was being done. We did not argue or went ins
angry we just wanted something done......so we pulled him.....We were new
to the School....

So we became proactive and we as a family took up Taekwondo
My son was doing great.....then the school called I go and they
quickly said it was my son fault he push another child...I was like
ok did you sit him out then they tell me the child bite him....
Well I was upset....I ask you the child was, the same one who was beating him
up....My son is sitting there so I asked him, the teacher jumps in and said Your
son wrote what happened and signed it.....I am just stuck on the biting really...
I read what he wrote....look at him and said Explain....He knows if he is not allowed to us
Teakwondo only as defense....his Taekwondo teacher taught the Korean Olympic Team...
The man is mean in a good way....
So my son explain he was walking up the stairs and the child was in front of him
The boy turned around and pushed him. My son caught himself and the child
was going to do it again and he blocked him the child got angry and bit him...
I turned to the teacher and said......What happening to the other child....
I ask do you know if this child has Aids....or any other illnesses...
In Renton, there were other parents who had issues too with the schools.
Not all are Religious, some were Gifted Children, Some were from different countries
and so on....

The Teachers need to be Educated. I volunteered at a school and walk by
one Classroom the teacher was reading a newspaper and the kids were doing
nothing. Some Teachers don't care ...There are teachers who are trying but
you see and other teacher who does nothing then the teacher who puts
all their heart in it, thinks why even try......It is sad....

I am going to say that I think for some students homeschooling is a very good option, and for others it can be the kiss of death.
There are certain socialization aspects which are beneficial to children. If those homeschooling make a concerted effort to include their children in peer based activities then I have no issue with it, but when I see them so sheltered and closed off from others their own age it breaks my heart.
Do I think all educators are created equally? Of course not. That goes for homeschooling and through educational facilities both.
I do however think that it is a parents job to be on top of things. If something isn't working then speak up, and force things to be resolved... Or move to another school.
