I know that feeling, my Dad you to sit at the table, his belt over his shoulder as he would look over my report card, every now and then looking at me with a frown. If he went for the belt I was always ready to run outside.

With my folks, it was never good enough. "You can do better." "You just need to try harder." To finally be topped off with "Can you do anything right?" Good was never good enough, so I pretty much quit trying...At just about everything.

My issue was always that my mother would trip me before I got to the door if she knew I got a good start on my father.
