OK not wanting to be a downer on a sunday But.....

Take a look at this guys story....whats wrong with the system, when we play by the rules and all their political correctness and the criminals abuse the system.

Im getting out my special red neck shirt....but the courts need to be toughter here.
Some people can be reformed/helped /cured. Others really seem to be intentionally or involuntarily out of control. This is when society has to step in and protect the vulnerable.

Some of these guys are obviously like ticking bombs waiting to go off.
(you would think that when the rcmp pulled him over and ran his plates there would have been a flash that this guy is a dangerous sex offender, and the cop could have inquired about the child he had with him) Good thing he lost his nerve b*stard! IM sure Maurice and atleast Tboy have some thoughts on this guy....

That was one lucky girl.

I've never been to the "" on a Sunday... is it any good? :)

As for flaws/ loopholes/ cracks in the system? You betcha! (Most are caused by lawyers!)

LOL - I'm not normally a grammar Nazi. Only if it's actually a completely different word that also makes sense and I end up totally confused...it could have been either!

Judges have a bird’s eye view of the case and know the law while the rest of us hear bits and pieces from a journalist’s article. I suggest you spend a few days sitting in an actual court room and see our Canadian justice system at work first hand.

LOL hmmmm if you only knew my background lol ok too much info. Suffice to say I am reasonably familiar with the canadian legal system (not as the accused lol and have spent "a few days" in several actual courts as a matter of fact. Many of the systems players also believe change is due. Mind you change in which direction is entirely dependent on to whom one is speaking.

I posted that it was flaws in the system. Not that the judge necessarily made any mistakes. Im simply saying at what point does the rights of the many out weigh the rights of the one?

The article also mentioned that the police had a pretty good idea he was or would be a recidivist took steps as available under the law to prevent a recurrance, and the system very nearly failed that little girl with possibly tragic results.(elapsed time less than 5 months)

I just re read your post and all I can say is that you remind me of someone I knew intimately long ago full of idealism and naiety. Dont get me started ...on the delays, deep pocket defences...costs, ...beaurocrats, politicians and the adversarial model. Its even worse in the civil and administrative cases.
That the system works is a tribute to the men and women who slave to make it work at whatever level. Sorry starting to rant.....

actually, once again you are mistaken....the loopholes are the fault of the lawmakers aka politicians, the lawyers just exploit them......

It never does: the rights of the one always outweigh the needs of the many......

Stupid question coming here.

Can lawmakers not cover the loopholes so it cannot be used against them?.
