1. Nothing stinks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong. ...

2. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.

3. There is great need for a sarcasm font. ...

4. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on # 5. I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

5. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.

6. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.

7. Bad decisions make good stories.

8. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of the day.

9. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection...again.

10. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page technical report that I swear I did not make any changes to.

11. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.

12. I think the freezer deserves a light as well.

13. I wish Google Maps had an "Avoid Ghetto" routing option.

14. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.

15. How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear or understand a word they said?

16. I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers and sisters!

17. Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever.

18. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey -but I'd bet everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time.

19. How in the world are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

20. Trying to think.

You may add more that I have missed.

Microsoft Word asks if you want to save changes if you try to close or exit with a document open that Word thinks has changed.
Chances Word is correct, and it has changed. Even if all you did was look.
The most common cause happens when you have receive a document from someone else, and you have "background repagination" set. If your printer is slightly different than the printer the originator used, then the first time you look at a document it will be reformatted to fit your printer, resulting in what Word considers a change.

Another common cause is something called "fields", which are in essence calculated results. For example, you can insert a field into your document that includes the last date that the document was saved or printed. The problem arises when fields are recalculated just by looking. Fields including date and time are often culprits, though in complex documents there are several approaches that could result in Word thinking the document has changed. It's difficult to say exactly which, because that will vary based on the document in question.

Finally Macros and Add-Ins can also cause Word to think something has changed. Macros can be set to trigger when a document is opened or at other seemingly random times. Add-Ins similarly can make subtle changes that may not affect the document visibly, but can cause Word to think it's changed.

The long, drawn-out, bottom line is that it can often be hard to tell why Word might consider a document to be changed even though you haven't done anything. Hopefully I've provided a few clues.

Cute thread George!

And wow Arthur those are a lot of explanations, cool

LOL yeah, and as much as I hate to admit it, I agree with most (ok ALL) of them.

The word one is the same for autocad. I sometimes open a drawing just to verify a measurment and it sees that as a change to the original drawing.

Mapquest: I realize that they do those directions for people who have never been to the 'hood before, but yeah, I know how to get to the highway from my street lol. Further to that, you often look back at the directions and think: where the fuck are you sending me, where I want to go IS RIGHT THERE!!!!

Here's a mapquest tip: Now this isn't so unique now with so many cars with GPS but when I travelled for business what I'd do is download the directions into word. Then increase the font to 72 or larger so that each step, was one page. Then I'd save the document onto my laptop and when I picked up the rental car, I'd put the laptop on the console or the passenger seat with the document open.

Then all I had to do is hit "page down" as I completed each step.

Reminds me of a time I was out with my Pop, we were on Airport Rd north of dixie and were looking for a place on dixie. He punched it into his gps and it sent us north. I said "ummm this is wrong, we should be going south...dixie is south of here" NONONONO he says, it says go north...

I turned around much to his protests and went south, turned left and whoop there it is. I said "I dunno about that GPS, if we'd followed it we'd be in Orangeville.......

I can stay in my merge lane as long as I have a lane, then ease myself into traffic. There is no rule that says I have to merge early and there's no rule that you have to let me in, but neither one of us is a jerk for taking the game to the limit.

The dude driving the 15 year old rust bucket always wins! :he:
