An Alberta couple had an emotional reunion with their four-year-old Yorkshire Terrier on Friday after it was stolen from their truck while they were on vacation in the U.S.
Lorie and Terry Traviss, from Camrose, Alta., picked up their four-legged friend, Dixie, at a Memphis police station where the dog had spent the night.
The couple drove eight hours from their winter home in Texas to Memphis for the reunion. They were visiting the city nine days earlier when Dixie was stolen out of their truck.

Memphis police tracked down the Yorkie after they were notified that someone was trying to sell her at a convenience store. Officers followed up on the tip, and Dixie was found at a local home.
"The people, the police department, them all -- thank you guys all for making it a miracle," an overjoyed Lorie Travis told CTV Edmonton.
The pair had been dinning at a restaurant near Graceland at the time their dog was stolen.
Surveillance footage shows a suspect breaking into the cab of their truck and snatching the dog.
The couple spent the first five days after Dixie's disappearance in a Memphis hotel room. They launched a Facebook campaign and a GoFundMe page with the hope that someone might be able to help them track down their beloved dog.
Woman charged in dog’ theft
Police have charged Lynda Hinkley in connection with the incident. She is in police custody and is accused of accessory after the fact, auto burglary and theft over $500.
Hinkley told officers that she had purchased Dixie at the convenience store for her daughter.
The man who appears in the surveillance footage has not been apprehended. Memphis police initially reported having three suspects in custody, but only Hinkley's charges have been announced.
