Going there for a month for business reasons but I do have extra free time. Can one get busted if they get caught with a hooker there?.

If you don't know the language, culture or people, I'd recommend waiting to play when you get back to Canada. Go, see the sights, but stay safe. The last thing you want is to wind up in jail or come back with a Chinese wife.

If you are in HK, go to Macau. It's filled with casinos and "spas". These spas are huge and some are located in hotels.

If in Shanghai, there was a karaoke club named "Count..." something. It's a karaoke club with hostesses being very friendly. I found this place thanks to a friendly concierge. Make friends with the concierge and ask him discretely for a recommendation.
