I've never been to the EX. I don't deal too well with crowds but I've wanted to go to a carnival, unattached with kids, for a long while. Maybe next year:unknw:

I just finished six consecutive days, working at the Ex, in the Direct Energy building. I was selling a product in a booth. I love direct sales, and I did reasonably well this past six days, working on straight commission.
But, as some of you may know, I recently lost my driver's license due to a vision impairment, and so it was necessary for me to travel to and from the Ex via TTC.
The TTC usually gives me good service, but the connections to the Ex are truly fucked. The Bathurst streetcar goes down to the Exhibition Loop, but they have closed the Strachan Ave stop which is the stop closest to the Prince's Gate. So to get to my building I had to either get off before the Strachan stop and walk 1/4 mile in or get off at the Exhibition Loop and walk 1/4 mile back to my building.
When I asked a couple of the drivers why they closed the Strachan stop they said that there were too many people using that stop and they cannot control them from walking into traffic and jay walking.
Yet, they managed to put up several sections of fence to close off the stop... it seems to me they could just as easily used that fence to control pedestrians getting off at that stop.
Pissed me off.
Otherwise, the CNE is the same... all the usual food, lots of women in various flavours, and the usual rides, games, etc.
The food I liked the best was the roasted corn on the cob. It was expensive at $4.00 but I had one every day.
The adult price of admission was $18.00, I'm glad I had a vendor's pass. I don't think I'd pay $18 to go see the same old EX.
