I did download it but I have not gotten it set up yet. My Spotify wanted me to get it when driving and listening to music. I have no idea why but that is how I found it.

I do love the response from Waze though.

In a twist, the newly expressed concern about speeding is also Google’s own defence of its software.
“Most users tend to drive more carefully when they believe law enforcement is nearby,” Waze spokeswoman Julie Mossler said.

I think the cops are more worried about the loss of revenue than the safety of the roads. Google is right. If you know the police are around, you are driving safer so for the speed traps in school zones, etc, cars are slowing down either by being ticketed or also by Waze letting drivers know.

School area is now safer because of both, no?

My daughter was very impressed with it so I downloaded it too. Meh. I prefer my old-fashioned GPS to get around, although Waze did tell me about police in the area, stalled cars on the shoulder ahead, and stuff like that. When I need the space on my phone, it'll be the first thing to go.

I use it all of the time. It will reroute you if there is a shorter way due to traffic jam ect. Tells pretty accurately if there are police ahead as it relies on other users to keep it current. Will give you an option of 3 or 4 different routes with timing and you can choose whichever one you want. I was told by a taxi driver that it was the best one out there. Does use a lot of battery though.

amazing with planning routes eg. when do i have to leave to be there at this time depending on traffic BUT kills data

It is a fantastic app and all of us should be reporting these money grabbing radar traps. It's just a revenue tool when they are pulling people over going 10 or 20 over.
