Monday (tomorrow). You guys ready to be taken by friends, employees and all. Or is the fad no longer as humorous as in the 80-90's era?. Anyone planning an April fool's joke on a friend. Any jokes you pulled or happened to you during your teens?.


We once told a coworker the boss was fired and asked him what he thought of him. We tape recorded it and played it back on speaker phone while the boss was listening. Yes juvenile stuff is stupid.

If they are qualified I don't care if they live on the street or in the penthouse. In many ways, a homeless person probably is more determined to work hard and "make it" than anyone. I have hired homeless for routine work around the house and yard, but never had the opportunity professionally (that I know of). However, I have hired recovering alcholics and drug abusers with no qualm and the success rate has been high. So yeah, I'd hire a homeless person if they were qualified for the job I was filling.

We were in a downtown park, early winter.

I commented on the number of homeless. She told be people from all over the US come to Seattle as homeless.
I wondered why anyone would choose a city were it rains most of the year over one like Phoenix or Austin, where it is sunny and warm most of the year.

She said it might be the fact city does not mind drug use.

I used to do volunteer work with "street involved youth" and many of them wanted to find gainful employment, but no one was willing to trust them or give them a chance. There was a restaurant downtown, the name of which I cannot remember, that would take them on and train them for free so that they could get the experience needed to find a job in the industry elsewhere.
