It doesn't appear to be the fact in Halifax, as one dealer seems to be buying up more property to show cars, yet with 90% of the American population now buying or shopping online, it makes me wonder..... Auto Dealers Decide Cars Are Taking Up Too Much Prime Space - WSJ

For most people buying a car, is a visceral thing.

The feel, look and smell all plays into it.
For a dealer the easiest sales are to couples.
You watch for one of them to signal they like it and let them sell the other one.

Car buying for the most part, is an emotional decision.

I do not believe for a minute that 90% of shoppers shop and buy online. That would mean the retail stores would have been bankrupt by now. Sherway Gardens and Yorkdale Mall just finished adding new additions to their locations.
