Are males going backward?

The Smells Like Teen Spirit thread made me think of my past and that era. Maybe it's just me but it almost seemed like we're going backwards when it comes to women's rights, racism, etc. The voices of that era championed equality whether it was females or those left behind. The cryptic anger of Cobain on "Rape Me" a song about soldiers gang raping Bosnian women was what defined music. It was outrage. As a guy you stood next to females. Today, I wonder..are we still there? All I see online is misogyny and "anti feminism".

How about men's human rights?. You all want to save women but who is saving us?.

With all due respect Prick, men are still making more than women and it's still a male dominated society, so and until that changes completely, no one male can cry "poor me" and expect sympathy. Certainly there are crimes committed against males, and other things, but the balance is still in favor of males. When my sister was going through university to become a vet, she was told she'd have to work twice as hard to survive in that then male dominated profession. Now as an owner of her own businesses, some 20 yrs later, she still has too.
I do believe Trump's divisive rhetoric is partly to blame for the resurgence of all this hate. It's been there but when you have someone in a leadership position sending out obvious and mixed messages to stir it up, then those who hate feel justified in displaying their hate publicly and righteously.

I at time believe it's become a woman's world. When it comes to hiring, sexual allegations, divorce it's usually in the woman's court and advantage. I know the sexual harassment policy in my work place falls completely on the male. If there is an allegation the male is immediately removed pending an investigation.

I don't know about hiring; I certainly don't feel threatened my job will disappear because I'll be replaced by a woman or a robot. Even if, I'd see that as a challenge to improve myself to compete. As for sexual allegations, I'd disagree. Police forces are reviewing the thousands of incomplete files where nothing was done with sexual assault. The burden of proof IS still on the female. If you rob me at gunpoint is the burden of proof on me?

But I'm not interested in that so much as I am what others perception of society was. I'm Generation X. We seemed to be that generation that moved women forward along with us. I work in a male dominated business and I don't see that anymore. I see a lot of young men who have zero use for women other than being a sex toy. They seem to prefer video games. I see the misogyny seeping through younger males (or maybe it's just me).

I agree with TC and I would also like to add that we are caught up in the name calling and finger pointing and nobody is getting the job done.
Women are still repressed and in the dark ages when it comes to equality and rights. We say they have t but wow its sure got a lot of holes in it!!! no pun intended
just look at the simple item of housing for women from divorce, widowed or otherwise in financial need!!! Get on the waiting list. I have seen to many women have to resort to drastic measures just to survive. And this is 2017!!!:NoNoNo:
