Made with Love

Are you a BMW driver?

While driving I saw a woman texting while driving her BMW. I got so mad pull down my window and threw her the beer I was drinking.

:LMAO::LMAO::LMAO::LMAO::LMAO:

Ha Ha.

I plead the 5th. I kind of own two (well I still pay for my x-wifes' BMW SUV). She is a real cunt on the road.....

I am an excellent driver.

Great cars - the survey sounds like a bunch of BS.

Do we need a study to tell us what we already know. The vast majority, NOT all, 3 series drivers are terrible. Take a look at the pictures from the rain storm we got last month. I'm guessing, but I'll say, half of the cars stuck in puddles were 3 series. Leads a little insight into the way they are driven.

I used to think that BMW drivers were assholes.

Then I bought one.

It's not the driver. It's the car. They're just so much fun to drive.

Damn, I miss my 3er.

I drive a 5 series and I love it, I wouldn't ever go back to any other make.

C'mon, fess up. You miss the good ol' days, bombing around in this baby (when your sidekick wasn't looking):

I needed a bigger car, practical car with more doors. I tested the 5er. Heck, I even asked to take a loaner home for a couple days. I really wanted to like it. I didn't. It's a great car, but it didn't feel like my 3er. Heck the new 3 didn't feel like the old 3. I just told myself that ill get a 135 vert once the kids are older.

My bike doesn't need gas and its very environmentally friendly. :biggrin2:

I have the 135i cab. In escort lingo it is a hidden gem. You can get a stripper for $45k. It is the only enthusiast bmw left. Great engine and chassis. Soft enough to be comfortable in the city and then becomes a sporty handler on back country roads. High torque. Dual clutch transmission (a real bargain in the sub $60k market). The engine is rated one of the best out there. I think car and driver got the 0-100km time in less than 5 seconds. Pretty good for the oldest bmw design left.

In the sub $100k category - BMW 135i, BMW old 335i coupe and Porchse Cayman/Boxster are the best for sporty handlers. I guess you could also throw in the Miata in there as well. Hopefully BMW won't screw things up like they have with every other recent model when the 1 series gets converted to the 2 series next year. More weight and less sport to broaden the potential market for the car.

I loved the old 3. I drove the new 3 - I was a little disappointed. The new 4, is supposed to be awesome. The first enthusiast pleasing car in 5 or 6 years from BMW (excluding the old m3 (i.e. replaced by the m4 shortly)). It comes with an "m" adaptive drive. Adjusts suspension, steering, transmission depending on which mode is selected. Best of all worlds. The electronic steering is still not as good from an enthusiast perspective as the old hydraulic system (less curb weight good but big reduction in steering feel (bad for performance driving)) . But supposedely they got the handling and 50/50 (perfect) weight distribution right as well as the engine / transmission connections. A lot of the mechanical stuff is directly attached to the rear axle for even better feel. A big improvement over the new 3 and the auto journalists are saying a big improvement over the old 3 as well. Time will tell. Production vehicles will be released in the fall.

Many say the 4is the best engine / transmission / suspension combo out there. The only reason why the Porscha Cayman may be preferred is because they were able to nail the steering. If you had a new four with the old hydraulic steering system - it would be a wet dream.

Why does it matter? I find BMW's to be average in today's market. Now, a real asshole would own a Maserati.
