Avoid Gardiner Expressway this Weekend!!

Holy crap!! Just got back home, I had to turn around my car, lakeshore was/is totally jammed up from Spadina all the way to Etobicoke. The bridge at Jameson crossing the gardiner has been completely torn down with bulldozers. The whole area is a warzone right now.

All closings for the next few months:

• Aug. 7-9: The Gardiner will be fully closed from the DVP to the Humber River over the weekend, opening Monday at 5 a.m.

• Aug. 9-17: The Gardiner’s eastbound lanes will be restricted to two lanes near Jameson for construction on the Jameson Ave. bridge. The work on the Jameson Ave. bridge will continue to disrupt the Gardiner through the summer, into the fall and almost to the end of December.

• Sept. 18-20: The Gardiner will be fully closed from the DVP to the Humber River, opening Monday at 5 a.m.

• Sept. 20-Oct. 29: Gardiner will be restricted to two lanes in both directions near Jameson Ave.

• Oct. 30-31: Gardiner will be fully closed overnight from the DVP to the Humber River

When was the tearing down of the Jameson overpass planned?

Its sad that no one has been able to figure out what to do with the Gardiner. With all those condos abutting the expressway, starting from the Exhibition, looks like we've got zero options now.

No idea, I didnt even know they were planning to till I drove by it.
I'm guessing it had structural problems from wear & tear

Sorry to pick on you Esco but you just hit my pet peeve. There isn't any bull dozers in that pic, a few excavators, a loader and a few dump trucks.
