Well, I'm feelin' kinda bummed right now. I'm between jobs right now, so money's a bit tight, but I can work with what I have as long as I'm not dumb...

Most years I get myself something fun. Video game, guitar or guitar related, miniatures...You know nerd related stuff that no one considers. But this year I'm drawing a blank.

No real video games have caught my interest. Maybe the new Dragon Ball Z.

A new guitar is rather out of my price range, besides I've not seen any that really catch my eye. I guess a new metronome, or a pedal might do, but I don't have much use for a pedal right now.

I haven't gamed in ages, but I do like to sit back and keep an eye on things. Springing for some new minis and some paints sounds like a good idea....But I've got a whole company of marines that could be painted, plus a most of a company of Space Wolves, and a Harlequin troupe that could be painted up...And Trollbloods and Khador....And really I don't have anyone to play with....:shout:

And before someone says "get laid," let me address that.... a) I was done in under 10 seconds, and it was an anorgasmic ejaculation at that, 2) the anxiety kills me, my heart thundered, and not in the good way, the entire drive in, C) hard to find maturer ladies, Amber hasn't been on schedule for some time, and EastYork Melissa has cats (IIRC one review correctly), etc...

Bleh....

I got the feels for you on the anxiety BD. Hope things work out. I bought myself something the other day, it was dumb and self serving, but now I have it and it sits in my garage waiting for dry roads and warmer weather.

Whereabouts are you? Lots of stores have specific nights for game systems. Also there are various facebook groups. Pm if you like.

Meeting people costs nothing.
A deck of cards is cheap.
Lots of organizations could use volunteers. Lots of opportunity to earn cash if you borrow a snow shovel.
Whenever I get down, it's time to get up and out of my shell.
We're fortunate compared to many others.

Hang out online. Learn a new OS (Linux)
Play Angry Birds
Play Jetpack Joyride
Play Clash Royale
Take one of your guitars and go busking
Hang out at the comic book store til they kick you out

This is the best post I've read in a while.....volunteering is the best way to rid yourself of blues and to stop one thinking of what you can't do or what you don't have, try it:)

How about a trip to somewhere....perhaps a bit more pricey but a vacation does wonders for your health.

Especially at this time of year, volunteering is a way to help others, feel useful, and do it all at little if any cost. You would also be surprised at what a change in your own life view volunteering brings. It doesn't have to be something like a soup kitchen: try a hospital, humane society, library, or sports center for after-school kids.

I endorse this and have done it on a regular basis. It does not take the specific time of the year to do so. Become a regular volunteer and you'll feel so much better and appreciate what you have.

:good:
