My girlfriend (no, not that slut) invited friends over for a late evening BBQ then tells me it's broken so time to buy a new one. Home depot it is, bought a decent one for $400. While bringing in the big box I decided to place the old BBQ in front of my house.

She says you can't do that, the garbage people won't pick it up. I give her a Bruce Willis smile and say. You must be kidding. Within the hour it will be picked up by some Junk-garage sale junkie. She bet me a BJ of my choice it won't happen. Forty minutes later she is getting her face fuc..., less than half hour it was gone. Story doesn't end here.

Two hours of intensive labor building the BBQ and I find that I am missing 4 bolts to the four last screws. (how often does that happen?). She says complain to them and make sure you don't pay for it. Sure thing I said, not wanting to wait much longer I just walk to HD and try to find the proper bold, pay for it and dash out.

No luck, approached a helper and he says sorry we don't have that size. Well then take the ones from the show room, says he can't do that. Manager was near, I called him over. Within minutes he is on the floor taking out the four bolts. Kudos to the dude and home depot.

So today I learned that it takes an old BBQ and Home depot to get a major league porno style Face fuc.

I once tried to build a new camping tent fresh from the box and they forgot to include the tent.

Not a joke.

Well Tiger, you have more dollars than sense!

May 2011, I walked into Canadian Tire to purchase a BBQ that was on sale for 99.00, I asked for and paid for the BBQ, set-up, delivery and a full tank. I used a credit card and they quaranteed delivery in 4 days, so 6 days went by and I went back into Canadian Tire to enquire about the BBQ, well they had lost the paperwork, yet they had billed me for everything as I had the transaction code from the credit card receipt and Canadian Tire receipt.

Now, I didn't get angry or frustrated for that matter, I simply said, "My BBQ will be at my home by 16:00 to assembled with full tank and I have contacted the owner of this particular Canadian Tire and the entire was free. Why was free? Because they had basically stolen my money on credit and I had the card company look into the matter as well. Now, my FREE BBQ will do 6 steaks, 6 spuds and 6 corn on the cobs, so

BBQ 99.00
Tank 45.00
Delivery 25.00
Assembly 25.00

Seeing the look on these fall down fuck-tards when their store owner told them it was all free!

ABSOLUTELY PRICELESS!

So that night, I took steaks out, baked spuds, corn on the cob and called one of my favourite SPs over for dinner, drinks and a nightcap that ended with breakfast!

You should have sold the BBQ on Ebay :biggrin2:

And still get the BJ.

Lol nice story guys. Some people do fall asleep in the assembly line. Isn't there accountability by the section manager to make sure all parts are safely stored in a box?.

that's the problem with everything being made in china, they really don't give a rat's ass anymore. When you'd buy something here, and they had the "inspected by...." tag inside, if there was something missing, you bet your ass that ctc would be calling up that supplier and letting them have it.....now? since so much is bought in china, if ctc says "straighten up or we'll buy from someone else" they go, "fine, go ahead, I've got 100 other companies that'll buy my garbage".....

Now in defence of the floor staff, you have to realize that they have been instructed first and foremost to defend the store...kind of like parents these days who know their kid was in the wrong, but won't admit it. Luckily many stores these days are now instructing their staff to take care of customers wherever possible since there is so much competition the only way to keep your market share is to keep your customers happy. Now to the detriment of profits, many people buy something, use it for the weekend, then return it monday buying it only for the weekend. This takes advantage of the no questions asked return policy.

Not all home depots are created equal. I had one in mississauga be 8 hrs late with a delivery whilst i was paying 3 guys to stand around all day. They offerred me some money back on my $2000.00 order, I went into the store and they gave me $200.......(credited to my debit card). When I got home up here I spoke to my buddies at the pro desk and they said "heck, that's bs, if the truck was delayed the store manager would have put the stuff in her car and made multiple trips until it was all there...." just then she walked by, and i called her over, explained what happened and she said "you're a great customer, I wouldn't have thought twice about it....no matter what, you'd have your stuff in an hour...."......BTW, there was some pieces of PT lumber that were 16 feet long.........
