Hello gents, I'd just like to solicit a bit of feedback from you. As many of you know, Allegra Escorts held our first party last week, and we were happy to host a small number of hobbyists at our location. We had a great time and we'd like to do it again in a couple of months, but we'd like your help in making it a great experience for everyone involved.

One thing I'd like to find out: what's the best time of day to do something like this? We held our last one on a Thursday evening, and we'll probably stick with Thursday again, but I wonder if we might have chosen a less-than-ideal time, and made it hard for hobbyists to attend.

So, the question: would it be better to hold the party during 1) lunchtime (noon-4pm); b) late afternoon (4pm-8pm); or c) early evening (8pm-midnight)? Please vote and comment below, and keep in mind we're located in the heart of downtown Toronto. Thanks for the feedback!

With thanks,
~Allegra

I am going to suggest mixing it up , Have 1 party at lunch so the married guys dont have to sneak out of home (just sneak out of work) and the next party have in the early eve.... and so on and so on. I see probs with having a party a few times a year. It used to happen all the time

One of the best people to chat with about a party is Sheik.

With him you will find a ton of experience planning them.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. It seems we already chose the best time for a party so we'll probably do it at the same time next time. I wondered if the lunch hour or just-after-work times might be more popular (particularly amongst those who might have to hurry home in the evening) but it seems early evening is still best.

In terms of invitations, I considered three main factors when compiling the guestlist: 1) Reputation amongst the ladies; 2) Reputation amongst other hobbyists; and 3) Posting history. If the ladies speak well of you, then I'm happy to invite you to join us, but if you're known as being pushy, demanding, or a little "too friendly" in situations that don't call for it, I don't want to put my ladies in an uncomfortable position by having you there. Same goes for other hobbyists - if you've had too much beef with others on the board, I'm not interested in having you bring that drama into my space. These things work best when everyone there is respectful of each other, and we're all just there to have a good time.

Lastly, posting history - this is probably the hardest to assess, and I'm not talking about the frequency or detail of your reviews either. I'm talking about how you carry yourself on the board, and how much negativity you express. I must admit, there were a couple of hobbyists who were suggested to me that I opted not to invite, just because I found some of their posts to be extremely offensive. To me, quality of posts counts for a lot, and people who express very negative or very judgmental attitudes are not people I would expect my ladies to entertain. I'm particularly sensitive to expressions of bigotry and misogyny, and I'm sure my ladies would not appreciate being around someone who thinks these sorts of attitudes are acceptable, regardless of the forum they're expressed in. We want to be around people who are in this hobby for the right reasons: because they love the company of the wonderful ladies who are part of the business, not because they hate women and need to hobby to feel powerful. You definitely don't have to be a white knight to get an invitation, but if you're a serial troll, well, you probably don't have to keep refreshing your inbox.

If you weren't invited to this party, please don't be offended - our guestlist was very, very small and I've been away from the boards for so long that I just haven't had the chance to get to know some of the really decent posters that have joined since I left. I'm sure that now, after I've had a chance to get to know you a bit better, we'll be able to expand the guestlist a bit more to include those of you who appreciate what we're trying to do. I'm sure our next party will be a blast for everyone who's able to attend. :)

And who may you be?.

Based on your join date, I'm definitely not someone you would know... Besides, I wasn't especially well-known back in the day, I was more of a lurker anyways. :wink2:

These days, I'm simply Allegra, which is an Italian word that means "to bring joy" or "to enliven" or "to make happy" - I thought it was rather apt. :anangel: Best if we leave it at that. :biggrin2:
