Ok, so I just got one. I must be living in the dark ages because I can't figure the fucking think out. There is way too much shit on here that I will probably never use, not to mention never be able to figure out how to use.

So how the fuck do I just make a phone call?

Fuck!

lol I'm with you player, when I got my first smart phone the only real thing I was interested in was "how do I make a *(&#*&#*(& call"!!!!!!!

The ONLY reason I got one at all was because some of my customers only text. I could call and leave 5 messages and not hear a peep. Send a text? they respond in 1.2 ms.

Wait until you learn how to use it, next thing you know you'll be using the gps (like I have), browsing webpages (with a microscope) and other things......

One of the reasons I went with the phones I did is less buttons. I found BBs had too many. I just touch the screen when I want to do things (although the downside is bright sunny days)...

Good luck mate!

Just press the green phone button key, which will get you to the call logs screen. Then use the numeric keys to compose the number you want. If you have names in your address book, you can alternately type the name and it will allow you to select the number you want dialed.

BB's are actually very easy and intuitive to use. Just use the trackball/trackpad to navigate to the application you want, click it as you would a mouse and you're in. Once there use the app key (the one with all the white dots on it) to pull up the menu of all the commands available in the said app.

There's a youtube channel that can show you anything you need to learn about the BB. Check it out, then if you have any questions, feel free to ask me.

Which model did you buy A1player?
Got a Curve 8530, starting to get the hang of it, but I am slow as hell and still confused.

The BB can be complex and overwhelming for those using it for the first time. But you will eventually get the hang of it. My 73 year old Dad got his 6 months ago and he is now a pro at it.

I agree, they can be intimidating. My first smart phone was windows based so it was semi familiar. Windows mobile is just as bad as PC based but at least I knew wtf word, excel etc was.

Same as connecting to wifi, my android based phone connects easy peasy, the windows based? nope, haven't been able to connect to a network for months.......
