Mine is a couple of years old and thinking of buying one soon. I have the curve (you believe that LOL). But I don't want to buy one and then in a few months a better model will show up in the market.

Does anyone know what is coming up?. Do I buy the Blackberry bold 9900 or should I wait and how long should I be waiting?. I don't want any other phone but Blackberry (Or should I change it?)

I don't browse the internet much with it. I use it for secure emailing, watching who knocks on my home door and to view my staff from home while they work.

Advice would be appreciated and thank you in advance.

I have a Blackberry as well. I'll NEVER buy another. Everything about that company now sucks ass, and I have a feeling they will not be around when it is time for you to upgrade again.

i dunno, ppl i know who have it like it, personally I had the bb bold but have since switched over to iphone 4 and wouldnt trade it for any bb

RIM's coming out with their QNX devices sometime around September. It's the same OS they're running on their playbook and is supposed to be pretty sweet. I currently have the 9800 Torch and I'm pretty happy with it. Too bad it came out 3 years too late. The newer Torch, the 9810, is almost identical, but runs on OS 7, while mine is still on 6. Large touch screen for browsing and pics, hardware keyboard (a must for me), pretty fast, decently powerful, good camera.

I'm still a fan of BB. They still have a solid OS, good quality hardware, and are Canadian. I'm still holding out hope they will pull through. Hey, look at Microsoft. But if you're looking for cutting edge devices, you may want to look at Android.

dude, something newer is always going to be coming out in a couple of months.......get used to it.....by the time you get your item home and out of the box, the next best thing will be on the shelves......

Never mind newer. It's just that the current crop of BB suck ass. Will the new QNX models be better? I sure hope so! But, ask me when was the last time I used my playbook instead of ipad. And, keep in mind that the QNX handsets are nearly a year behind schedule. Odds are, they're already obsolete.

When the Iphone 5 comes out, my 11 year affair with BB will end.

I have a question about crack berries. Is there any way to open and exiting contact that has name, address and telephone numbers and save it as another contact? Email browsers allow this so easily. I don't want to have to type the fields in all over again if the only difference is the name and email address.

And yes I've used that "switch application" function to copy and paste from one contact to another but that's just as annoying.

No easy way that I can tell.

Yet another reason to junk my BB.

Sexy, but bloody frivolous. Also, thruth be told, the design is the sleek '07 look I want in a device

I love the BB. It suits my needs perfectly as a handheld, but this is disappointing.

Android O/S currently holds more than 40% of the market's burgeoning mobile devices, and is growing exponentially when compared to other providers ... even Apple (or RIM for that matter) can't keep up with that rate of growth with its proprietary O/S and hardware. Better to find an Android powered device that meets your needs feature-wise than buy iPhone or BB...pretty soon, the feature-rich devices powered by Android will completely eclipse their rivals in the market, and unique features available on Apple will have been replicated by every slag out there. Buying a new Apple, MS, or RIM device now is a waste of money. Tough it out for a year using the basic features available on your existing device and the market will have shifted so drastically you'll have waaay more viable options on a much better O/S, and the service cost for an Android powered device will have dropped through the floor due to competition. Think strategically boys, you know, like a woman planning her divorce would! Love ya'! Anna

Anna,

Yes, Android is leading in market share, due to being a free OS. However I'm not going to discount the others just yet. Apple, to my great disappointment, has a huge brand loyalty and a marketing jauggernaut. If you check out the specs for iOS6 that came out this week, you'll see people are going to still be buying iPhones. Also, if you already operate in an Apple environment, getting one just makes sense. The integration between computer, phone, tablet, ... is seemless with Apple.

You're also forgetting Windows Mobile. It too is a cross-manufacturer OS and has usability that trumps even the iPhone. With the deal MS has with Nokia, and the updates brought in since Mango, Windows is again a contender on the mobile market.
