Made with Love

Blame the parents or the kid(s)?

Don't you all remember when we were young and would push the limit as far as we were allowed?.

All has changed now. Parents these days just don't care.

Even if parents do care, their hands are sometimes tied.

And when you look at things in general....how much of a kid's behavior is really controllable. You can find families with multiple kids and each kid has a completely different behavior pattern. Maybe 4 of the kids are decent but one is a complete hellion. Is it the parenting or is there just something about that one kid? It doesn't have to be the first, middle or youngest kid either. A lot of it just has to do with the individual child.

Just because kids grow up in the same house doesn't mean they all have the same experience. If there is a wide age range between oldest and youngest, of course the parenting has changed. The parents the oldest had won't be the same as the youngest, they're older and more experienced. Or maybe they're older and more tired, and just can't give a shit anymore.

Maybe one kid has an undiagnosed medical condition that causes different behavior. Maybe one got molested by the neighbor when the others didn't. Maybe one knows familly secrets the others don't know. There can be any number of reasons one child out of a litter acts different.

And then it's a cycle, because different behavior from the child elicits different behavior from the parents.
I'm not making excuses.....the parents are ultimately responsible and need to discipline the kid until the find a way to get him under control, but at the same time, there are kids that just will not be controllable. And if they went to the extent to have to spank the child, restrain the child or use some other extreme technique to get the kid under control there will undoubtedly be a call from some caring bystander to child protective services who thinks that the parents just needed to give more effort to understanding the child's needs blah blah blah.

BlahBlahBlah is right. I'm not saying a kid's wants should never be considered. But someone has to be in charge, and it's best for everyone if that person is an adult.

I didn't catch what airline it was, but I'm surprised the family wasn't removed before takeoff.
