I enjoy my morning emails from him. Today he posted about Air Canada - Canada's Favorite airline:

"Air Canada continues to strengthen its hold on the hearts and affections of Canadians. After a weekend that saw a surprising number of pilots call in sick – the same pilots who are locked in a labour dispute with management – the private company that maintains many of the airline's aircraft shut down its operations on Sunday, locked out its 2,400 employees and told them not to return to work. Aveos Fleet Performance, the service business spun out by Air Canada a few years ago, posted a sign at its Winnipeg plant, stating "We regret to advise you that effective immediately, Aveos Fleet Performance Inc. has ceased the operation of airframe maintenance."

No pilots, No mechanics, No passengers next I'll be guessing.

Sure as companies keep contracting work out to China for cheaper labour. This has nothing to do with the union. A Canadian worker cannot compete with cheap over seas labour. The government has to step in and force companies that want to do business in North America to keep their labour force here or we are headed down a very slippery slope.
