You guys are joking around, but you're actually touching on a real issue.
It's really bad for a board if the mods aren't perceived as being impartial. If there is a sense that certain members would never get banned because they are friends with the mod, or even worse that other members will be banned because the mod doesn't like them, the board can only go downhill from there.
So if a known member is to become a mod, it can really only work if they do it under a different handle, and no one knows it is them. So yes I'd be comfortable with Bubba being a mod, but he should change his name and keep his mouth shut.
Honestly, I don't know why anyone would want the job. I used to be friends with a guy who was a mod on another board, and there is a lot of bullshit that goes on behind the scenes. :no:
