By comparison, things are as expensive as you think

Since I started hobbying 7 years ago, I judge most of my purchases in relation to how much it costs me to visit a hooker.

Today, I was at a computer store and asked the shop owner how much a new sound card costs. He said $89, taxes in, installation included. I thought for a moment as to whether or not that was a good value, and then as I normally do, I compared it to the cost of hobbying.

A sound card will give me thousands of hours of enjoyment @ $89 vs. a hooker which will give me 30 minutes of enjoyment @ $120.

So, I bought the sound card and had it installed.

My wife and I had treats about 1 hour ago. I then placed $100 on the bathroom counter and told her she could have it. She was happy, but I don't think she put 2-and-2 together as to why I was giving her the money. I would have given her more, but her menu is very restricted.
