ROBERTSON said:UNFRICKEN believable,... a government agency allows some one to change their sex, no cutting required, simply by saying they are a different sex today, than yesterday.
What the hell happened to common sense and guts in government agenises, and the silly servants that run them.
So what's next, is IT going to be allowed to change IT'S mind tomorrow, and have IT'S birth certificate changed back to male, absolutely no reason not to, is there.

The doctor who signed off should face punishment of some type. Clearly he did not do his job very well.
This is a slap in the face to the trans community.
ROBERTSON said:Agreed on all counts.
But one must also recognise that the doctor probably knows the hell that could be brought down on him, if he apposed it's request, not worth the time and money fighting a loosing battle with it.
Prim0 said:So.......what if we look at it this way?
If someone thinks in their mind that they are the opposite gender to what their DNA says.....it's okay? But what do we call it if someone thinks they are a different species than what their dna says? Why is one supposed to be automatically accepted as a sane choice but I think we'd all agree that the person who thinks themselves to be a duck needs help?
Just an honest question....no meant to be directed personally at anyone. I want to know why one is different than the other.

ROBERTSON said:If some one thinks they are the opposite gender than their DNA,...what they are born,... that would be a psychological abnormality, wouldn't it.
And yes, that person needs help, but few seem to get it.
Maurice Boscorelli said:After much thought on this subject I'm leaning more to agree with your stance. Hard to argue with DNA in the end.
But with 7.6 billion people on this planet I can see where some humans are just going to be born not according to the biological script so to speak.
Recently I saw what appeared to be a cross dressing male walking down the street in Burlington when I was driving. I know years ago I would have thought something negative and laughed to myself. But that day I just thought of the struggle that person must have had in their life and might have on a daily basis.
I also watch the TV series Billions. There is a character on there played by a non- binary person named Asia Kate Dillon. Quite fascinating TV really. And somewhat educational for myself.

I'm all for people to live their lives the way they see fit.....even if it harms them. It's their choice. But where does a line belong when people have mental issues that affect their ability to make choices that might do them harm. If we have the compassion to protect someone who thinks they're a lion from jumping in with the lions at the zoo......why not see any need to help people who believe they are women trapped in male bodies and whatnot? Is it just that we don't see a safety issue by changing gender? There are stats out there that show that there is a higher rate of suicide among people who go through sex changes. Wouldn't that mean that we could save some lives by protecting people from themselves.
Prim0 said:Seems a bit like you're disrespecting the people with mental health issues. I don't know how many out there suffer from species dysphoria......but I would have expected a little understanding or empathy from you.
Species dysphoria - Wikipedia
You seem to see everything through your view of gender and give now credence to the way others view gender or mental health. What is it that makes you so right that you can just piss on the comparison of one type of dysphoria to another? I've said it elsewhere....you do nothing to benefit the discussion with your negative posts. I'd happily discuss any topic but when you just disregard the opinions or views of others, then it becomes a waste of time. How many people have you turned off to the plights of the LGBT community because of your insults?
Now....is there anyone else who can see why some people would see gender dysphoria in a similar way to species dysphoria? After all, the mind is telling these people that what they physically are is not what it should be. Why do people simply see the need to treat one and not the other?

Any thoughts? (personal attacks and they typical CA stuff not withstanding?)

"Some people experience both gender dysphoria and species dysphoria and consider them to be related in that they believe them to be similar dysphoric experiences."
Would explain some posts here, wouldn't it.
