Is there hope?.

LONDON, ONT. - The green light has been given to test a Canadian-made vaccine for HIV/AIDS on humans starting next month.
The vaccine, developed by University of Western Ontario professor Chil-Yong Kang, has been approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration.

The testing of the vaccine - called SAV001 Aids vaccine - will start with trials to double-check its safety.
Kang and his colleagues have teamed up with Sumagen Canada to test the HIV/AIDS vaccine.
It is the only AIDS vaccine developed in Canada and one of only a few in the world to be tested on humans.
Kang said he and his fellow researchers hope the vaccine will prevent HIV infection, saving millions of lives.

Sounds like good news but we will not know for years to come if indeed it will do the trick.
