OK I have to say that as angry as we may be about our band width getting capped, it seems that there is as much or more collusion going on in gasoline pricing.

With all the different signs (Petro/Huskey etc) you would think that there might be some variety in the gas pricing, but no each night at midnight everyone changes there price at the same time to the same amount.

I dont care why it happens or why a change in a daily spot price affects the gas in the pump already.

However I intend to support the rebels out there who for whatever reason post a price less than the going rate. I suppose my 60 litres purchase doesnt make a big difference, but it makes me feel good to fight the man lol.

Tonight I was driving thru Brampton and saw 2 stations selling for less than the going 113.5 so I thought I would post them incase anyone is nearby and interested.

PIONEER AT HURANTARIO AND BOVAIRD(HWY 7)............107.9
FORTINOS ABOUT 1 KM WEST OF THE PIONEER ALSO ON BOVAIRD ALSO ..107.9
(they close at ten, but everytime I pass by they are 5 or 6 cents less than everyone else and give you 2 cents a L. store coupons too.)

If you see any stations bucking the trend support them, post it here, cause what the hell will prices look like if the economy gets going.

OK I will not get off my soapbox thanks for your patience with my rant

I'm with you Scotty. That's why I use a Canadian Tire Card and usually get at least cents off the pump. I can't believe how quiet Canadian have been seeing the pumps go over the dollar mark again.

Wow Chunky first we agree on a girl (guess her muff thread) and now this.

Its like your my brother from another mother:)

Now if only I could get you to switch the avatar...or atleast have my avatar lend yours a kilt.:)

Just Joking...whatever floats your boat:great:

I do agree tho, we were all ticked last time the gas went up, but they have been consistently creeping the gas up despite lower barrel rates and a higher dollar....we are such sheep!

Good plan using the card, I used to use the 6,8 10 times store money multipliers but IM not sure if that was to protest the gas price or just my frugal (read cheap) scottish nature

I should put a kilt on my avatar to stop all your perverts from checking out my GF's sexy ass!!:whip:

It doesn't help that Premier Dad added 8% tax on gas but at least his time will come and payback will be sweet and swift. Unfortunately we can't do this with the gas companies but I do protest in my own way. I will not buy anything from the shops running the pump, not coffee or even a stick of gum whenever the prices surpass a buck.

I couldn't care less I have a gas allowance but I know my company hates the extra cost of the fuel. Especially when it comes to the heavy vehicle fleet. They do get a discount but it's still higher than it should be.

Better make sure the other party you choose will take the tax off, don't think it will happen.
Me, I'm gonna boycott driving this week - this is a good incentive for everyone to try it at least once in a while.

That's not an option if you live in Sauga, Brampton, Vaughan etc..... That was the problem with Miller's view and his war on cars. We need to face it that we need our cars and the problem is the oil companies know it too.

Good point Auggie, Its not often you see someone really reduce taxes. (Well fed tories did cut back the gst but thats another thread maybe)

I like the boycott thing but for me it isnt practical, bedroom community and no public transit option. StillI guess I could cut back more on the frivilous trips.

Thanks for the other web sites, I used to be more intouch with that sort of thing, but them it seemed all competition just vanished.

I would be curious to see how many actual corporations own all the different brands that are out there. I think Petro bought the shell stores, suddenly there were huskies all over my neighbourhood, are they actually also petro or really a different organization?
How many companies still refine in Ontario anyways?
Why am I so annoyed by this on a sunny Sunday morning?

Feel free to answer any of the above questions...:)

true. I remember the last big run up in gas prices, it seemed to slow the economy even, certainly led to frustration in the consumers, and we seemed to cut back our driving.

Its like it was a market test by the oil companies
>lets run the price up til me get resistance and reduction in purchases, once we find the place we will drop it back down to let them get back into their old consumption habits....then ease it back up to the resistance point slowly ...insert evil laugh here<:666:

Auggie's Unrealistic Suggestions to Beat the Oil Companies

1. Move closer and walk to work.

2. Buy a gas siphon.

3. Sell your house and live in a van parked at work.

4. Ask right wingers to regulate and control industry pricing.

:he:

Invest in Electric cars. Way to the future along with buying gold. Gold should hit $2000 by year's end.

Petro and sunoco merged, that's why husky is in some of their station.
There are only 2 refineries serving the Ontario marketplace. We are being soaked by them, and the damn government.
How can gas be 5cents a ltr cheaper in orillia then the gta ?
