There's simply more crime in the US due to the fact that there's more people.
What I find strange is that the NRA and their members ignore the fact that there are so many gun crimes and deaths due to the preponderance of guns.
You have to wonder about the thought processes (or lack there of) behind fighting tooth and nail for waiting periods, the legality of off the shoulder sales of guns at gun shows, etc etc.
I think they also fought against fingerprint ID triggers. These are devices that prevent anyone but registered users from firing a weapon. This would 100% prevent kids getting their hands on the guns and killing someone else or themselves.
