China threatens Canada with 'grave consequences' if Huawei CFO not freed

Canada Will Stick with the US on that one. Even if TRUMP not the Smartest one thats something I would not like to see happen; get her release on the demand of China, when the US ask/ requested her arrestation/ extradition.

I sure as hell hope that Hair Doo has some proof that Huawei violated international laws.

Otherwise, all of his manly talk, was just that, TALK.

Andrew Coyne: Let's call China's detention of Canadians by its proper name — kidnapping

Certainly no evidence has been produced against them, nor is there any reason to expect any. There is no due process in China

Canadian authorities might have guessed how China would respond to the arrest of Meng Wanzhou, the Huawei executive accused of violating U.S. sanctions on Iran.
In 2014, after Canada arrested Chinese businessman Su Bin, wanted in the U.S. on espionage charges, China seized Christian aid workers Kevin and Julia Garratt. They were held in isolation cells with lights that never went off: for six months, in her case, more than two years in his.

Now the pattern has been repeated, with the disappearance of first Michael Kovrig, a former diplomat now working in China with the non-profit International Crisis Group, then Michael Spavor, an entrepreneur known for promoting tourism and trade with North Korea.

There is no use calling this anything but what it is: kidnapping. Official claims that Kovrig and Spavor engaged in activities that “endanger the national security” of China are as spurious as the accusations of spying against the Garratts. Certainly no evidence has been produced against them, nor is there any reason to expect any. There is no due process in China, no independent judiciary, no right of habeas corpus. Canadian authorities were only granted consular access to Kovrig four days after his detention. It’s not clear they even know where Spavor is.

By contrast Meng is already out on bail, while a judge considers whether there is sufficient evidence against her to warrant her extradition to the United States. For the crime of carrying out our obligations under the Canada-U.S. extradition treaty, Canada has not only had two of her citizens abducted, but must endure lectures on human rights from emissaries of one of the world’s foremost practitioners of torture, forced confessions and indefinite detentions.

Some European countries are now stepping up in support of Canada and the US.

This action by the commie Chinese, is not surprising in the least.

Fricken arrogant commie Chinese.

The three Canadians were NOT detained, they were kidnapped.

This maybe a good time for the free world to start getting off the commie Chinses addiction, if not, it will only get worst, and not end well for the free world.

Did I just read this correctly?. Thought it was only 3?.

[h=1]‘Hundreds’ of Canadians held by China raises the stakes for Trudeau’s government[/h]
OTTAWA—Around 200 Canadians are currently detained in China for a variety of reasons, the Star has learned.
The staggering number paints a worrying picture of what is at stake for the federal Liberal government — and for many individuals abroad and their families here — when it comes to dealing with Beijing’s newly aggressive posture towards Canada.

It also highlights how carefully Canada must tread as it navigates an explosive international trade and security dispute between China and the U.S., at whose request Canada arrested a high-profile Chinese Huawei executive.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau adopted a deliberately measured tone Wednesday as news broke of a third Canadian detained by China.
Trudeau said it does no good to “politicize” or “amplify” consular cases because it can actually hinder what he said is the ultimate goal of securing Canadians’ release from detention and their safe return home.

He said every year there are “tens of thousands” of Canadians who visit, work or travel within China and “hundreds” of consular cases there that Global Affairs Canada oversees.

If Mr. Dress Up actually believes, that regarding the 3 Canadians recently kidnapped,... "it does no good to politicize".

Just what the hell does the chicken shit think this action is by the commie Chinese is ?

PS: When I make negative comments about the "commie Chinese", please understand that I mean absolutely no disrespect to the Chinese public, who have obviously have no say in how that country is run, and most defiantly not towards any law abiding Canadians of Chinese descent, who without, would not be Canada.

Now the commies are saying the whole advanced free world is wrong to support Canada,...

Next, it will be that the whole advanced free world is wrong for supporting the US, when the CEO of a company that violated international law, is handed over to them.

As I have already stated, we need to get off this commie Chinese addiction, it will not end well otherwise.
