Members-only adult club in Tannery sparks outcry

KITCHENER — More than a week after he first complained about a “private, member’s only hostess lounge” setting up in his ward, Coun. Frank Etherington is waiting for word that Club121 has been shut down.

“I don’t want to see this type of place opening for business in my ward or any other Kitchener ward,” Etherington said in an interview Tuesday.

“It is particularly objectionable to see this business set up in The Tannery because that’s the high-tech gem of downtown development,” Etherington said.

Club121 moved into room 329 of the historic building more than a week ago. There is a small sign, a keypad lock and a buzzer with a small light and camera. A professional-looking website was operating until midday Tuesday.

I agree with you Chunky but their choice of location probably could have been better. Out of site.. out of mind.
Although (especially in smaller communities) if they want you gone, sooner or later you'll be gone.

LOL Art! I was getting my new car serviced in Cambridge and they threw a copy of the paper in front of me to pass the time. Since I do not subscribe to any sort of newsprint I glanced through it and saw the ad. I don't live in Cambridge but it's always nice to know whats going on with the other places. I was surprised to even see erotic ads there....who the fuck advertises in the paper anymore!? lol

I knew the owners of that club and unfortunately the bad publicity from that Councilloris what shut them down
