Kudos to Trump on his direct shot at him.

President Donald Trump got up on stage at an Alabama rally for Sen. Luther Strange (R-AL) and wasted no time in attacking “little Rocket Man,” Hillary Clinton, and President Barack Obama.

But there was one moment that really stood out.

Trump absolutely ripped former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and the NFL apart for not “respecting the flag.” In fact, Trump advised that if you see a player kneeling during the national anthem, you get up and leave the stadium.

Trump even pulled out his signature “You're fired!” line on everyone who chooses to protest during the national anthem when he said:
"We're proud of our country. We respect our flag. Wouldn't you love to see one of our NFL owners when someone disrespects our flag to say, 'Get that son of a b***h off the field right now ... he's fired!' [...]
When you see it, leave the stadium. I guarantee you it will end.
Total disrespect of our heritage, a total disrespect of everything that we stand for. And I know that we have freedoms and we have freedom of choice and many, many different freedoms. You know what? It is still totally disrespectful. And you know when the NFL ratings are down massively, massively."

Then: Colin Kaepernick's $25,000 donation to a charitable group honoring a convicted cop killer has been revealed.
Kaepernick's foundation made the donation to Chicago-based Assata's Daughters, named after former Black Liberation Army member Assata Shakur, in April as part of a $1million charitable pledge.

Shakur was convicted of first-degree murder in the 1973 shooting death of New Jersey state trooper Werner Foerster and sentenced to life in prison, but staged a daring jailbreak and now lives as a fugitive in Cuba.

Kaepernick, who is well known for his protests against police during the national anthem as a former San Francisco 49ers quarterback, made the donation as part of his pledge to donate $100,000 a month for 10 months to 'organizations working in oppressed communities'.

Assata's Daughters was founded in 2015 to 'develop and train young people, ages 4-19, in the Black queer feminist tradition and in the spirit of Assata,' according to the group's website.

The first major broadcast domino has fallen. In response to crashing ratings, plummeting ticket sales, and a public backlash fueled by none other than the leader of the free world, Fox Sports has decided to cry Uncle! Becoming the first major NFL broadcast partner to publicly say that they will no longer air the national anthem

How do you think that sets with fans?

Truth be told the Anthem is seldom televised other than during the Super Bowl

Fans are staying away from games and buying their merchandise. Like Trump said, fire those that kneel. Case closed.

I don't see what the fuss is. He has the right to make a statement, he kneels. It's an elegant act of submission drawing attention to a social issue needing that focus, without any repercussion in a physical sense. I understand why he does it and I support his right to do it. There is no rioting, looting, interruption of life happening; he is simply making a statement with a gesture. He's just kneeling. As for the donation, I see that as well given what the government did to the Panthers; it was another shameful time for the US government...

smiles, cat

So the players are making their views known on racial injustice and inequality is that right?

Yet in the Washington Redskins case they adopt a name and logo which are blatantly prejudice against native American people.

A bit of a oxymoron no?

He is a piece of work

Yes I agree, Trump is a pathetic piece of work and Trump is also the biggest whiny ass out there. For those blinded by Trumps buffonery, Colin Kaepernick took a knee to protest racism, it had nothing to do with the national anthem. But little baby hands had to turn it into a flag hating issue, because promoting hate is all that asshole is good for, that and telling the world about his delusions.

Actually Cristy he sat down at first.
He did this because his career was in a tail spin.
He did it to call attention to himself.
He did it because he saw the writing on the wall that he was done at a QB in the NFL.
His girlfriend gave him his faux cause.

But in reality he his the poster child for not understanding his time was over.

I

Well I can't say yay or nay to what you are saying because I'm unaware to any of it, so you may be right. However, the rest followed with bended knee to protest racism, so with them, the argument about the flag/anthem should have stopped. But and one of my biggest issues with Trump is his lack of empathy, understanding towards such issues and a lack of wanting to stop them. He seems to enjoy stirring the pot, and promoting hate. We all have to agree racism is ugly, still far to prevalent and it needs to be stopped. How I'm not sure, but demeaning those who peacefully protest it, certainly isn't a step forward to wiping it out.

The ones doing now are doing so to protest Trump.

Maybe they should hold themselves and their team mates to the high standards they demand from others.

How about the person who is running the country, who has one of the greatest platforms of all, started making changes within, and then holds himself as an example to follow, then people would have no need to protest him. How about if he started by simply acting like a man instead of an ass:)

One step at a time and we can fix mos anything.

So many Trump supporters in this forum it sickens me.

Yes I will kneel too along with the quarterback guy. To show that we stand solidarity to the people of colour, LGBT people, and other marginalized groups that Trump and his cronies have shat on.

It saddens me to see that one decides to make a shitstorm out of a quarterback guy kneeling at the flag to show solidarity while Trump and his white supremacist cronies continue to promote hatred and bigotry towards the disabled, the people of colour, the LGBTQ community, women, minority groups, make aggressive threats to us and to other countries, and all around be a total piece of shit who takes no other interest than to self-boast how powerful him being the orange coloured shitbag that he is. How about let's focus on that instead?

The model behind the release of the video featuring offensive line coach Chris Foerster snorting a white powder before a meeting leaked the damning clip in response to the intense political climate, according to recent Facebook posts.
In a since-deleted comment, Las Vegas-based Kijuana Nige said coaches should take responsibility for their actions as players who protest during the national anthem are chastised over their decisions on whether to stand.

“I have plenty of white friends so I’m not making this a race issue. People are missing the point. My point is everyone has to be held accountable for their decisions they roast players over anthems while the coaches be high as s–t and probably can’t sing along,” she wrote, per Obnoxious Boston Fan.
The 33-year-old model also spoke out Monday on social media.

“The white people mad at me like I forced blow down this mans nose and like I recorded it on tha low,” Nige shared on Facebook. “No those are his habits and he recorded himself and sent it to me professing his love.
“So quick to make excuses for him but will roast a minority player over an athem [sic], dog fight, weed, domestic issues etc. But y’all keep saying ALL LIVES MATTER STFU!!” she continued.

The relationship between Foerster and Nige is not clear. In the video, he said he misses her.
Less than 12 hours after the recording surfaced, Foerster announced his resignation Monday following one season and four games with the Miami Dolphins.

“I am resigning from my position with the Miami Dolphins and accept full responsibility for my actions. I want to apologize to the organization and my sole focus is on getting the help that I need with the support of my family and medical professionals,” Foerster said in a statement.
Foerster joined the Dolphins in 2016. The organization addressed his resignation with a separate statement.

“We were made aware of the video late last night and have no tolerance for this behavior,” the team stated Monday. “After speaking with Chris this morning, he accepted full responsibility and we accepted his resignation effective immediately. Although Chris is no longer with the organization, we will work with him to get the help he needs during this time.”
