Hey guys, sorry to get all commercial on you. I built a custom desktop computer for a good friend a couple of years back, and he just passed away a couple of months back. His widow no longer needs this computer and would like to sell it. She's moving away, and would rather not have to move too many unnecessary things. It was designed for space-saving and good performance for Net surfing, and general office work. It's not something that can play video games, but it can be easily upgraded to one. Here's the general specs:

  • Intel G1840 dual-core CPU
  • 8GB of RAM
  • 1TB hybrid SSHD storage
  • BluRay player/DVD writer
  • WiFi networking built-in
  • 480W power supply built-in.
  • Windows 10

If you guys know of anyone who's looking for a simple desktop computer, let me know. Asking price is about $300.

Fuck....I just bought a Dell on the Shopping Channel.....

What would possess anyone to buy a Dell? haha. In the past they've been rated pretty low, has that changed?
(now I'm asking for a knocking by all the IT guys in this group but I would much prefer to build my own)

I'm guessing the video card is on board and would require an upgrade for gaming? (As well as RAM)

Does it come loaded with some of your porn collection? :yahoo:

Yeah, it's going to need a gaming card if you want to game on it, it can take a full-sized GPU if you want (300mm long). But the system can take upto a Core i7-4790K if you want to get serious about gaming. However, 8GB should be more than enough for most games.

Without upgrading, it would a fantastic office and/or home theatre PC.

Nah, I'm gonna reformat it before selling it to anyone. :LMAO:

It was sort of an impulse buy...I didn't check ratings.....INSPIRON 17 (5000 series).....including all the software etc...$770?? price looked good

The Dell is also a laptop, so it's a different market than the one I am selling, which is a desktop.
