The best bike for riding uphill is a trike, that's my other vehicle. You can pedal as slowly as you want in the lowest gear for miles and miles - never toppling over and never breaking into a sweat.
Very very cool way to ride.



Also great for going into the wind, you're nice and low.

I've seen those around. There is a guy that zooms along Islington and Rexdale daily. He zips along the sidewalk like a low rider rocket. Cool, gadget, but not for me, I think it would get me in trouble.

On the sidewalk is a definite no-no for me, I'm right in the traffic where I belong. A huge flag is necessary because I'm so low though.

A cyclist ran into me yesterday while I was walking on the sidewalk. The road was empty.
He called me an asshole as he was getting up off the ground.
I picked up his bicycle with my bleeding left arm and threw it over a fence.
So ends my cycling horror story.

Should have thrown the cyclist over the fence.

Last time I rode a bike I got my big toe caught in the front wheel sprockets. Needless to say I flew over the handlebars and did a face plant into the asphalt. Bicycles should be banned!!

I give him credit not only does he talk the talk but he walks the walk.

As for the spandex well there's not much of an alternative if one wants to cut down wind resistance.

Aw, you poor thing!

I know a guy that has more bike accidents than everyone I know put together. One time, he wiped out, and took the handlebars to his gut. The next day his ENTIRE STOMACH was a bruise. Seriously, it was the most massive and alarming bruise I have ever seen. It was at least a foot in diameter...his doctor made him go for a cat scan. lol
