Had a "WTF was I thinking" moment at the gym this morning. I've been struggling to bench 215 for the last couple of weeks. And I finally figured out why.
Now my current work out is based off of Pavel Tsatsouline's methods, so it sees me lift 100% of my working weight for 5 reps, rest 5 minutes, then another set at 90% working weight, and rest/move to the next movement.
So for me, I'll load the bar, do my set, strip off 20lbs and do the second.
While loading the bar this morning, I realized I was putting 10lbs too much weight on the bar. So no wonder 215lbs was feeling so heavy and hard to work with, because it was 225lbs!! And I was making this mistake for the past 2-3 weeks now!
Damn, I'm stupid.
