I'm usually a patient man but even I have limits. Something happened recently with an agency I no longer use. Lets just say it was one of an Asian persuasion. The SP was late arriving to the incall, and the agency actually did a decent job at keeping me up to date. What finally killed it for me was the bad estimation of time. Here was the basic scenario. Time booked was for 5 PM. I arrived at the incall shortly before 5 and notified the agency. The booker replied back saying that the SP was on her way and was going to be a bit late and that she could be there by 5:30. I say ok. 5:30 comes around and no SP. A bit after 5:30, the booker and I are exchanging cordial texts where she is updating me. But at 5:50, I get a text saying that the SP will be there in 10 min and that she will need 5 Min to get ready. That was the point at which I bailed and said, see ya. Both clients and SPs and agencies please chime in here. What would've been the best way to resolve this? I was pissed at the time because I was told an alternate time and I waited. My expectation at that point would've been told at 5:30 that it would be longer and given a chance to bail. But instead, twenty minutes after the alternate time, I'm told it would be another 15 min. Well, the first and second times have both passed. Who's to say that the 15 min wouldn't be 30? I've been doing a lot of thinking lately. My decision to not use this agency anymore wasn't hinged on this instance. It was more of a straw that broke the camel's back. In my mind, I think the only mistake the agency made was that at 5:30, the booker should have given me the chance to cancel. Lot's of things can cause delays, so I'm not even putting this on the SP. Instead, I'm just wondering what would've been the best way to handle these types of situations. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has had a late date.
