Black-and-white New York City. Frank Sinatra's "My Way" trembling along in the background. The Captain surprising (seriously surprising) local Bronx kids and bar owners around Yankee Stadium. Please let us know if you don't have goosebumps after watching Derek Jeter's new Gatorade commercial above. You might not be human.
According to AdWeek, the spot was filmed before a game in July and Jeter was more or less left to do as he pleased -- giving it that utter spontaniety.
Gatorade, the official sports drink of Major League Baseball since 1990, roped off a few blocks before a home game in the Bronx this July and "just kind of let Jeter go," said Carter. The shock and surprise on fans' faces when their idol walks into Stan's Sports Bar, or autographs baseballs, is genuine, she said.
The Yankees Captain was also apparently heavily involved in other aspects of the ad's production -- creating copy and going with Sinatra as the main tune. We're thinking there may be a bright future post-baseball

As a life long Yankee fan I can't fathom watching a NY game without seeing him at short.

I actually just saw this commercial for the first time a little earlier this morning. I thought it was a great commercial, and I think Jeter is class all the way. No one will ever be able to replace him

Mark my words, within a year or two he is going to be acting and maybe a small movie role.

Derek Jeter
A closet homosexual who plays shortstop for the New York Yankees. It is widely believed that he has a sexual relationship with Yankee third baseman, Alex Rodriguez. Ever since A-Rod came to New York, there have been many instances of ass-touching and subtle neck-kissing going on between the tandem.

Derek was also voted most feminine in the MLB in 2006 in an anonymous poll of players and coaches. It was a landslide vote.

I just walked in on Derek Jeter sucking A-Rod

Demographical statistics show that 38-year-old-men who:

- have never been married (to a woman)
- have never fathered a child
- have never, at any time, co-habited with a female (other than a sister of mother)
-have no woman anywhere who claims to have had sex with them

are 97% likely to be homosexual, either out, in the closet or in denial.
