Escape- I will never try and convince anyone to eat something they don't or to stop eating something they do, but I won't accept anyone causing any animal suffering. We have the knowledge, abilities, technology to house and slaughter, if we must, any animal humanely. Many animal lovers don't follow my beliefs, but so be it. The problem with other countries, especially Asia and especially concerning dog/cat and the eating of other animals there is their ridiculous beliefs, namely, the more an animal suffers before dying the more tender and medicinal the meat will be. I've never been to Asia but I have a cousin who travels to Thailand and to parts of China often, and the humidity alone, so I'm told, is a death sentence for many of these animals as they cage them so cruelly, literally pile them on top of one another often with their snouts bound, giving them no way to cool themselves. When they reach their destiny they are then force fed, as they won't eat due to fear and stress, a tube is shoved down their throats to feed them, suffocating many. It is a literal hell on earth for many animals as there are no regulations or laws to protect them from this kind of treatment. So when some people compare their eating dog/cats to our eating cows/pigs, etc, it's not the same what so ever. Yes all die, but at least in North America we have regulations, although not stringent enough, we have some, as to how the animals can be transported and housed and we can report cruelty. In North America the animals have some comfort. In Asia death is a blessing, the housing and transport, then the drawn out death is the hell.
