i new about the happy birthday song, whenever it is sung in a movie you see it listed in the credits and yes, a royalty is paid to the owner....same as when it is ever sang at an official event, like marilyn monroe sang to kennedy, the owners were paid......

as for the michael jackson one, i was watching a dvd the other day and saw the 5 yrs imprisonment fbi warning thing.....which brought to mind the guy who was selling handguns to undercover rcmp officers who only got 4 yrs......something is definitely wrong with our society when it is more of a crime to play a dvd in public than distribute illegal handguns.....
