It's about time. It's always been a pet peeve of mine that just merely holding my phone would get me a ticket if an Officer sees me. I maybe checking the time, I mean who uses a watch anymore when you have a cell phone? What if I'm at a red light and just glance at my phone? It seems they are always drumming up a way to give us more traffic tickets, collect more money for the city and the insurance companies.

Well based on this ruling the Police can no longer ticket anyone for just holding their phone. They took the law and added their own spin in when and how to lay the charges.

My girlfriend asked me to get her a cell phone so she could check the time and I told her that the clock on the stove still worked.

Lawyers win again.

It was a stupid charge. Come on, are we are children and can't hold something in our hand without getting a ticket!

Sorry to hear about your shrivelled up stick. No wonder you carry a pouch of little blue pills wherever you go!:LMAO:

What a waste of the court's time. The cop should be paying for the wasted taxpayer's money.

ummmm most cars have clocks in their dashboards.......

I have to agree though, just holding your phone shouldn't be a ticketable offence but saying that, if a cop does see you holding your phone, he should have the right to stop you and see if a) you made or received a call recently and b) if you'd sent or received a text message recently. If he finds you did in fact send a text recently, you should have your licence immediately suspended for 30 days......

I mean think about, reading or sending a text has been proven to impair your ability to drive in the same way as consuming 6 or 8 drinks and they suspend your licence for that for a lot longer.......
