Shocked?. Is Fox news the only reliable one now days?.

CNN is paid by the US government for reporting on some events, and not reporting on others. The Obama Administration pays CNN for content control.
Let that sink in.

Additionally CNN and CNN International are also paid by foreign governments to avoid stories that are damaging, and construct narratives that show them in a better, albeit false, light.

Amber Lyon is a three-time Emmy winning investigative journalist and photographer. She accuses CNN of being “fake news.”

Back in March 2011, CNN sent a four person team to Bahrain to cover the Arab Spring. Once there, the crew was the subject of extreme intimidation amongst other things, but they were able to record some fantastic footage. As Glenn Greenwald of the UK’s Guardian writes in his blockbuster article from September 4th 2012:

“In the segment, Lyon interviewed activists as they explicitly described their torture at the hands of government forces, while family members recounted their relatives’ abrupt disappearances. She spoke with government officials justifying the imprisonment of activists.

And the segment featured harrowing video footage of regime forces shooting unarmed demonstrators, along with the mass arrests of peaceful protesters. In sum, the early 2011 CNN segment on Bahrain presented one of the starkest reports to date of the brutal repression embraced by the US-backed regime.

Despite these accolades, and despite the dangers their own journalists and their sources endured to produce it, CNN International (CNNi) never broadcast the documentary. Even in the face of numerous inquiries and complaints from their own employees inside CNN, it continued to refuse to broadcast the program or even provide any explanation for the decision. To date, this documentary has never aired on CNNi.

Having just returned from Bahrain, Lyon says she “saw first-hand that these regime claims were lies, and I couldn’t believe CNN was making me put what I knew to be government lies into my reporting.”

Here is a segment of the Bahrain report that Amber Lyon and her team put together. CNNi refused to allow it to air because the Bahrain Government had paid them not to show it.

Government controlled media - I thought that only happened in China, North Korea, etc.

What gets to me is that they are also paid by foreign governments to avoid stories. So it's not just the US.

If this is true. These allegations have been around since 2012. If this is true, then...

I am a little shocked. Always viewed CNN as a little to the left and would be supportive of US interests but did not expect this. Obviously they are a for profit oganization but this is unethical.

I think this will be a blow to them. It will be interesting to see how this will impact their ratings. Hopefully a better choice will come along for a reputable international news agency.

Politicians lying to the public about accessing our private files.
CNN and other news companies hiding the truth.
US is over at Syria now for another war.

What next.

Senor Gomes going to tell us he doesn't like Greek anymore?.

This is truly breaking news.

Good on her. Let's just hope she doesn't have "An accident" one day.

I'm sure Fox New is just as corrupt. It's always about the money.

Any time there's an editorial spin, there's going to be selective takes on any subject. The only news source I trust if the BBC. And, even there, they will hold stories or change the spin a little depending on pressure from the British government, royalty, etc.

+1

An oldguyzer I used to know turned me on to the BBC for that very reason. It's the best place to look for unbiased news about Canadian issues.

How is it that CNN get's called out and several of your comments are "Well Fox probably does it too". Those sound like the comments of children on a playground. Just deal with the situation at hand.

Obama want's to go after syria for the chem weapons use....well Dubya did it too.

Spying on Americans by government....well thanks Dubya.

Obama lies about this that or the other...yeah well some republican did it too.

Jesus...this is why I'm not really a republican or democrat but just try to weed through the crap and apply my own principals. My main problem is that I don't trust any of the information that comes out and I have to try to see through the propaganda (from either side) to figure out what's really going on. Unfortunately I don't have time for that.

I'll just stick with my old...less government is better. Let people live their lives as they wish as long as they are consenting adults.

:clapping2: Well said!

Hmmmmm, true?.

Anderson Cooper have been caught red handed creating staged CNN war room scenarios regarding Syria and other stories that are simply manufactured Hollywood news designed to dupe the ignorant masses of America and the world into believing war propaganda. Damning footage has emerged of ‘Syria Danny’ – the dubious “activist” who appears on mainstream news each and every week begging for a US or Israeli military invasion – in which he apparently coordinates gunfire and explosions to be staged during his interview with CNN.

Syria Danny preparing his report for CNN is told by cameraman: "Tell them they are falling down, and we're taking bodies from underneath them". Hip boots please! This is a staged "report" and only proves that CNN is manufactured news. (Watch the clip below)...
