Ever get fired?

I worked in a grocery store for twelve days, in June, 1980. I was working part time on weekends at a job I had had in August-December, 1979.

The grocery store went through several junior staff in that period. I think they were 'auditioning' employees, to fill two spots with people who would stick around. I would have quit within a couple of weeks, if I hadn't gotten canned.

I had full time employment at the other job less than a week later, so things worked out fine.

Just that one time, getting fired.

Spend that energy doing a good job man and you would have never got fired.

I was fired as a salesman.....it just wasn't the job for me.

How did you handle it? How long were you on the job? Were you scared when you were fired? I know it is easier to be reflective when it happened many years ago but im intrigued about people's initial reaction...

Getting fired, in my experience wasn't a big deal. Both times, I was unhappy myself with the situation I was in, got decent severance packages and was treated professionally. No drama to speak of.

My exit line was "I have quit better jobs".

Never because I've always own my owned business but I've fired a few people in my time.

I got fired from a restaurant once because I told the boss she was running her business into the ground. It was true.

Was that necessary or he gets fired?.

Hard to know what was said, was the officer threatened, did this person have a history of violence the officer was aware of? Unless we know all the facts on this one it's hard to say.
