Made with Love

Fifteen year old kills all his family. And wanted to kill more.

and its only gonna get worse before it gets better.

The news media has to slow down on their 24/7 coverage of shootings and confine it to the late hours so adults are the only ones exposed to it. Ever since the OJ coverage, the media has gone ovecommunity.

Our society is seriously fu...ked up! It is time the media to ignore these events as I think they just encourage other sickos to copy them. I undertand the public has the right to have access to this kind of information but seriously, sooner or later we are going to be immune to this kind of violence. Another reason to ban guns!

40-Reasons-To-Ban-Guns.jpg

Banning guns does NOT solve the problem. All you do is take the guns away from the law abiding citizens and put them into the hands of criminals. Banning guns in the UK did not stop the shootings, banning guns in Jamaica did not stop the killings. Guns are not banned in Switzerland, in fact the entire population is educated in firearms and nearly every household has a firearm and gun crime is virtually non existent.

You want to do something about the problem, you look for solutions, starting with the media and education, then you get the bloody courts to enforce the existing laws to the fullest extent possible for those that use firearms in the commission of a crime.

Rather, isn't that those who are conscripted into the people's militia for the purpose of defending the country those who receive the training? And those who choose to retain the weapon may elect to do so.

Luckily he was stopped before he went to Walmart. I guess the NRA can't blame it on video games this time. This kid had visions of being taken out in a police shoot out. No law can stop an individual like this. His actions are spontaneous and doesn't have a criminal record. The guns were in the closet and not locked up which is nuts!

the culture of responsibility and safety that is anchored in society and passed from generation to generation. Kids as young as 12 belong to gun groups in their local communities, where they learn sharpshooting. The Swiss Shooting Sports Association runs about 3,000 clubs and has 150,000 members, including a youth section. Many members keep their guns and ammunition at home, while others choose to leave them at the club. And yet, despite such easy access to pistols and rifles, “no members have ever used their guns for criminal purposes,” says Max Flueckiger, the association’s spokesperson.
“Social conditions are fundamental in deterring crime,” says Peter Squires, professor of criminology and public policy at the University of Brighton in Great Britain, who has studied gun violence in different countries and concluded that a “culture of support” rather than focus on individualism, can deter mass killings.
“If people have a responsible, disciplined and organized introduction into an activity like shooting, there will be less risk of gun violence,” he tells TIME.
That sense of social and civic responsibility is one of the reasons the Swiss have never allowed their guns to come under fire.

Yes because if no one reports it we can pretend it didn't happen. Right. That's going to help. Idiotic.

I think the concern there is the copy cat syndrome. I do believe once a crazy suicidal individual reads about what happened sometimes a light bulb goes off. This also applies to watching a movie, unfortunately if it's not one thing it's another that will set them off. My problem is why is it so easy to have access to firearms. It shouldn't be, it should be damn difficult and background checks with family doctors being contacted prior to allowing any family to own any type of gun would be my preference including toughening the laws to put anyone committing any crime with a gun or knife behind bars for a very very long time and NOT for the individual defending himself, that should be common sense.

The USA has tried guns.....How about trying no guns....Unrealistic....

It an American problem but their hand guns and assault rifles are entering Canada...

So as a Canadian do we say "Let the Americans kill each other, as long as it does
not enter Canada" or Have people try to reason with them......

Why are people so shock now this is happening......
Shooting a 27 little children is doing nothing ....so what if the teen kills his family
it has happened before.... Who really cares....for true who gives a shit....when a mom
is sending a gun to school with her child or people buying bullet proof back packs for their
their children.......

Really give every household in the USA their own hand guns and assault rifles.....every single one..
The people who want guns should not complain then.....Really ....why check up if you are to Bare Arms...
then every Household should be packing.......Don't even argue the point....because it is in their Right to Bare Arms .........So arms they should get and for the ones who can not afford them donations from the
the Red Cross should go to it.......

There the Problem solved.....

Latest figures from the FBI show there are 300 million guns in the US. There are 300 million people. That's....lemme see....one gun per person. Sure, you get the odd person who collects a few dozen and not too many tots wandering around brandishing weapons, but that's a truly staggering number of guns in the hands of a lot of people. Why? To protect themselves from a British invasion. Right....

In the absence of the Brits they feel they have to protect themselves from themselves.

Hmmm........Doesn't make much sense to me.

Like being an alcoholic the first step is to admit there is a problem. Not blaming it on the media, not blaming it on the courts or the police but taking some responsibility. There is none of that here amongst the "gun crowd". It's everyone else's fault but theirs. According to you this morning there wouldn't be a problem if no one talked about it. This afternoon you finally admit that there is a problem but it's someone else's fault. Sorry if I'm not particularly impressed with this logic.....or lack thereof.

Perhaps we should treat gun owners like any other group of spoiled brats and take away their toys until they can demonstrate that they can handle them.

The existing laws are clearly ineffective. Whether its the laws themselves or their enforcement. Perhaps they aren't working working because they are simply unenforceable or perhaps they are enforceable but not at a reasonable or practical cost. Perhaps as a gun licence holder you would like to pay a "super tax" to help enforce them ? No? Not surprised.

More hogwash. And yes banning assault rifles did work in Australia so you can drop that particular piece of the NRA mantra.
