Interesting Hmmmmmm

Five people were injured in accidental shootings at U.S. gun shows on Saturday.
A 12-gauge shotgun discharged when its owner presented his weapon for inspection at the entrance to the Dixie Gun and Knife Show in Raleigh, N.C., according to the Charlotte Observer.

Birdshot pellets hit a woman on the right side of her torso and a man in the left hand, the Observer reported. The third victim , a retired sheriff's deputy, was also hit in the hand.

Police are questioning Gary Lynn Wilson, 36, but told the paper the shooting was accidental and that it was too early in the investigation to say whether charges will be laid.

The show shut down early Saturday and will reopen Sunday, but police said only weapons already in the building will be allowed for sale.

In Indianapolis, Emory L. Cozee, 54, shot himself in the hand by mistake when he was loading his .45-calibre semi-automatic while walking back to his car at the Indy 1500 Gun and Knife Show, WISH TV reported. He was being treated in hospital, and police said they didn't expect to lay any charges.

And in Ohio, a gun dealer at the Medina Gun Show was taking a semi-automatic handgun out of its box when it went off and the single bullet inside wounded another man in the arm and thigh, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported.

Police Chief Pat Berarducci told the paper the man was "very lucky" to suffer what appeared to be only minor injuries after the gun was "mishandled."

the owner should be charged with reckless endangerment as well as reckless discharge of a weapon.

Loose the right to own a gun and forced to watch 1000 hours of Rosie O Donnell re-runs.

Ok the first two yes but the last would be cruel.

Real men don't need guns!:biggrin2:

Gee and it seemed only yesterday that some people here were praising how responsible and careful most gun owners were :biggrin2:

Put a bunmch of ignorant Americans with their rights to bear arms along with a loaded shotguns in a crowded place, and watch the fun begin! "Responsible" gun owners indeed....responsibile for stupidity.

I own long guns. Used to shoot targets. I have NEVER taken or left a loaded gun anywhere in thirty years of shooting. How stupid do you have to be?

When everyone owns a gun half of them will be in the bottom 50% in IQ.

True...true...but sometimes the odds seem heavily weighted to one side more than the other due to the lower half's actions :biggrin2:

I don't own a gun for the protection of drivers all across the GTA! A little snow and people can't drive!!

Yep, thats how most firearm accidents happen. They forgot to check the chamber and assumed it was unloaded and next thing ya know BOOM off it goes. Anytime I pick up a firearm, its the first thing I check, is the chamber clear, yup ok it's safe to handle. Even when I know the firearm is unloaded I still check every time I pick it up. I've seen it on pawn stars when someone brings an old firearm, the first thing they do is check to make sure the firearm is unloaded.
