Five Love Languages

I don't but got me curious and found this.

https://www.5lovelanguages.com/learn-the-languages/the-five-love-languages/

After many years of counseling, Dr. Chapman noticed a pattern: everyone he had ever counseled had a “love language,” a primary way of expressing and interpreting love. He also discovered that, for whatever reason, people are usually drawn to those who speak a different love language than their own.

Since The 5 Love Languages™ debuted in 1992, over five million copies have been sold, making The 5 Love Languages a perennial New York Times bestseller. But numbers don’t measure the influence the book has had on couples and their marriages.

That's what I was curious about too, Beer.

From what I've read the 'languages' are physical touch, words of affirmatio, gifts, quality time, and one other which I don't remember. Most people will 'speak' one or two of these languages.

Now, based on an online test to determine one's languages, I came out as speaking touch and time. This rather interesting because I do tend to touch 'those I love', usually in the firm of a brush, or hand on the shoulder/arm. The other fun part of it I'd that I'm also extremely touch adverse. I don't like touching people and I dom't like being touched. Even something as innocent as a hug (something which was common last night) are uncomfortable to me. Pretty sad, eh?

This was my score:

8 Words of Affirmation
7 Quality Time
1 Receiving Gifts
3 Acts of Service
11 Physical Touch

I LOVE to be touched....LOL:love:

Don't you feel just a tad better after last night's hugs?.

Well it's a weird love/hate relationship. I most certainly do enjoy them. I also feel pangs of envy when I see other guys getting those very sensual hugs. But hit me with one, and I'll freeze in a combination of discomfort (someone's touching me!), and uncertainty and awkwardness.

Now that you know your love language, here’s some more information you might not have realized about it, and why certain behaviors affect you more than others.
Your Love Language

Quality Time
In Quality Time, nothing says “I love you” like full, undivided attention. Being there for this type of person is critical, but really being there—with the TV off, fork and knife down, and all chores and tasks on standby—makes you feel truly special and loved. Distractions, postponed activities, or the failure to listen can be especially hurtful.

My results were: Words of Affirmation 4; Quality Time 10; Receiving Gifts 0; Acts of Service 5, and Physical Touch 11.

Physical Touch This language isn’t all about the bedroom. A person whose primary language is Physical Touch is, not surprisingly, very touchy. Hugs, pats on the back, holding hands, and thoughtful touches on the arm, shoulder, or face—they can all be ways to show excitement, concern, care, and love. Physical presence and accessibility are crucial, while neglect or abuse can be unforgivable and destructive.

Which again is really odd because like I said, that's the kind of contact I find very uncomfortable.
