Florida jury slams tobacco company with $23.6B in punitive damages

R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. has been order by a Florida Jury to pay $23.6 billion in punitive damages after a four-week trail in a lawsuit filed by Cynthia Robinson, the widow of a longtime smoker who died of lung cancer in 1996. The jury also awarded Robinson $16.8 million in compensatory damages.

Maybe because it's not written in spanish it means that the cigarette companies want to kill spanish people.

I wonder if the government will be giving back any of the tax dollars made off of tobacco sails or if they'll be called on to pay this lady. After all, they were the ones putting out the warnings and could have made cigarettes illegal this whole time.
